From a regional perspective, the Asia-Pacific region has emerged as the global hub of the EMS industry, accounting for more than 60% of total output value.
Recent industry research reports indicate that the global electronic manufacturing services (EMS) market is continuing to expand, growing from approximately US$580 billion in 2021 to nearly US$720 billion by 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.6%. Looking ahead to the period from 2026 to 2030, driven by demand for AI-enabled devices, smart vehicles, and 5G infrastructure, the global EMS market is expected to surpass US$950 billion, maintaining an average annual growth rate in the 5%–6% range.
From a regional perspective, the Asia-Pacific region has emerged as the global hub of the EMS industry, accounting for more than 60% of total output value. Among them, China, with its comprehensive supply-chain system, mature manufacturing capabilities, and cost advantages, firmly holds the position of the world’s largest EMS production base. By 2025, China’s EMS market had surpassed RMB 1.8 trillion, representing approximately 35% of the global share. Key regions such as Shenzhen and the Yangtze River Delta have attracted a large concentration of EMS firms, fostering a complete industrial ecosystem that spans from component supply to finished-product assembly.
In terms of market structure, industry concentration continues to rise, with leading firms such as Foxconn, Flex, Jabil, Wistron, and BYD Electronics consolidating their dominant positions through global expansion and vertical integration. At the same time, Chinese domestic players—including Luxshare Precision, Wingtech Technology, and Unisound Electronics—are accelerating their ascent, achieving breakthroughs in areas such as smartphones, servers, and electronics for new-energy vehicles. In 2023, mainland Chinese manufacturers’ share of the global smartphone ODM market exceeded 40%, underscoring their robust local competitiveness.
